Kara: Speed Up & Girl's Power

February 29, 2012 11:13 PM

Internationally known Korean Girl Group KARA recently released two Japanese Single, respectively titled Speed Up & Girl's Power.

First, let's talk about Speed Up. The girl's did a complete 360 degree turn from their previous Japanese Single, instead of the cute/lovely concept they have embraced ever since they debuted in Japan, the girls we're back to the 'Black Era (remember 2010 when all Korean Girl Groups has the dark concept?). Now, we all know that Nicole, Hara, Gyuri & Seungyeon can pull their sexy concepts, it's no surprise, but everyone might want to pay attention to JiYoung, why? the maknae of the group, pulled the concept better than her group members? her face expression, the way she danced, all I can say is JiYoung is finally a grown up.

Here are some .GIF's
Sexy Maknae >:D

SPEED UP is a really catchy song, but since Japanese Fans are not used to seeing KARA in their sexy concept, this concept might be harder for them to get use to

So here is SPEED UP by KARA

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another single released by KARA a day after the release of SPEED UP. The next song titled 'Girl's Power' returns our beloved angel's. Gone the sexy, fierce concept they portrayed a day before.
In short words, Girl's Day is the complete opposite of SPEED UP. Once again, KARA knows where their fans weaknesses lies. With a catchy chorus & a dance that easy to follow anyone can dance around with this song, a great song for the warming weather.

Dressed in colourful dresses, the girl's showed their inner child, surrounded by cupcakes, bunnies & balloons the girl's made a great use of their surrounding. Nothing really different from the usual cute/lovely concept KARA is known for in Japan.

Without further ado! Here is KARA with GIRL'S POWER

Comeback: Jay Park

February 27, 2012 10:55 AM

We had our dose with new debuts for the past months, some memorable, some needs some more work and some lacks promotion. Now that a few newly debuted singers established themselves, it's time for the ones who actually established themselves. That's when Jay Park comes in.

When the name Jay Park/JaeBeom is mentioned one would think right away of the 2009 scandal, but the past is the past and Jay Park has proved himself to be a great singer and a proud Korean.

Just the last week, Jay Park released his comeback album 'New Breed' and his title track 'Know Your Name' has been gaining a wild fire attention. It's far from the Korean PoP genre, yet it has it's own 'a taste of Korean Music Vibe'. It clearly doesn't separate itself from the Korean Market, but it doesn't copy any American Music also. When Korean Artist insert english lines in their songs, the song which can turn out really good falls apart, while Jay added english lines into his songs, the transition was well added and produced that sometimes you wonder, 'was there really an english line added to the song?'. Which puts Jay's songs into another level, it's apparent that when the song was released it will be one of the most memorable songs released in the year 2012.

Here is Jay Park with Know Your Name

A R&B version of the song was also released, check it out.

In all honesty, I think the Original Version is better, but Jay's voice in the R&B version is amazing!

Miss A: Touch Comeback

February 19, 2012 4:01 PM

Guess who's back?

That's right. Miss A is back with another single titled 'Touch'. A new genre, a new concept and a new dance.

After 7 Months of Hiatus the group finally comes back with a new single titled 'Touch' what's so special about this track? First it's different from their past singles, it showed Miss A's vocal abilities, their ability to adapt a different dance genre. The dance will right away catch your attention, instead of the usual pop dance track that K-POP girl group these days take, Miss A captured the robotic dance with a bit of tango & the usual pop dance. But this time, a song that seems a bit dull was turned into a lively music and anyone can dance into. Though the track is not really dance able, it's still an amazing track for a comeback and it definitely showed Miss A ability to adapt different genres.

Their costumes are lighter this time too. Everyone might remember that Miss A uses dark/bold colors for their concepts, but this time Miss A used both White & Black concept.

Without further ado! Here is Miss A with Touch.

Debut: Ailee

12:07 PM

We all know that B.A.P made a huge change to the boyband scene in the K-POP Music Industry, while SPICA turned heads, what about the soloist?

This is where Ailee comes in. Ailee a Korean American singer was discovered by Wheesung. Before her debut Ailee already made a name for herself in the internet, she has a youtube account named aileemusic where she covered songs by Whitney Houston, Beyonce & Miley Cyrus.

She made her TV debut during the MBC Chuseok Special 'Singer and Trainee' where she sang 'My Boo' with her mentor Wheesung, she also did a cover of Beyonce's 'Halo' where she made trainees and their mentors dropped their jaws. After the competition she won the title of the 'best trainee'. Ever since then her debut was hidden.

It was until the beginning of February that teaser videos for her debut single we're released. The song resembles Beyonce's 'Halo' a lot, but Ailee gave the song a different charm. While it disappointed a few music critics, other approved of her vocal ranges. A rookie that can control her breathing enough, show professionalism in the stage and control her performance well.

She possesses abilities that rookie singers take a while to master. Should we just say that companies missed a huge amount of talent? or that Ailee will be giving them a run for their money in the near future? One thing is for sure, Ailee is one of the acts that K-POP fans should watch out for.

Without further ado! Here is Ailee with Heaven

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH HER LIVE PERFORMANCES!

February 18, 2012 2:28 PM

So once again I changed the name of the site, the site is now named Luminous Rain I really have no idea what it means, but I love the name so I changed it. Once again S-KoreAii seem too direct and a bit boring so I changed it into something more interesting.

Hope everyone will enjoy Luminous Rain. As for it's sub-ordinates MT-Layouts it won't be updated this week with a new layout. Currently experimenting with a few of them, I think it will be available this coming week. So please forgive me.

Debut: SPICA

February 9, 2012 11:57 AM

but
With the K-POP music spreading like wild fire all around the world, there is little to no chance that new idols can leave an impression to viewers, but their is one girl group that stood up the most. This group is a fresh air in the K-POP girl group. With a lot of competitions around, they proved themselves that they can different from the other debuts.

SPICA a new girl group under B2M Entertainment [Lee Hyori's Agency], is one of the brightest star shining in the K-POP world. Considering they are newbie's in the scene, they already established themselves to be group that other entertainment companies needs to watch for.

Apparently their group name SPICA is the brightest star in the constellation virgo and the fifteenth brightest star at night. SPICA debuted with Potently where they showed their vocal abilities that should not be denied. Later on they released their debut single Russian Roulette and it's different from the aegyo filled debut that most girl groups are going for today. Instead it's filled with feminine power & sexuality. This is certainly a group that should be watched out for!

Maybe it is now safe to say that SPICA & B.A.P made quite a noise with their debuts.

Without further ado! Check out SPICA's Russian Roulette

SE7EN comeback

February 3, 2012 3:28 PM

After nearly 2 years since SE7EN last released an album in Korea. He comes back better than even and is equipped with JYP.

A few days ago. SE7EN released a single titled 'When I Can't Sing'. Note in the beginning of the song, you would hear something like 'JYP for SE7EN' which means that Park Jin Young (JYP) himself composed a song for SE7EN's comeback. Now that is something, although fans have known long enough that YG & JYP have a brotherly relationship, no one has ever thought that they would collaborate for SE7EN's comeback. Let's just say, the song is amazing.

Without further ado! Here is the music video

The song is available in iTUNES go and buy it! It's worth every penny.
